Digital Ultrasonography

Ultrasound is used to visualize soft tissue structures, such as tendons, ligaments, and muscle. Dr. Silverman carries a portable ultrasound machine with him at all times on the truck. This information is processed and store in a digital form and can be recalled at a later time for either further evaluation or comparison to scans taken at different times. No sedation is required for this procedure though with certain horses a small amount of sedation will aid in getting a quality study.
