MRI

MRI (available on premise)

Following a thorough lameness exam, Dr. Silverman may recommend a MRI study for your horse. A MRI will focus on a very specific region of interest on your horse’s lower limb. This procedure is performed at our clinic by San Dieguito Equine Group using a standing MRI unit. Your horse will be sedated and maneuvered into a large magnet. Once positioned the study will commence and will be a continuous stream of image capture, unless the horse moves. This procedure may take form 1-3 hours, depending on the amount of movement during the procedure.
